Roasting the Perfect Marshmallow
First we need to discuss what makes the perfectly roasted marshmallow. It's not enough to just have a golden brown crispy shell, it must have that ooey gooey consistency the whole way through. Some will say that a little char is the perfect balance to the sweetness of the marshmallow, but we know they are all crazy...
Now that we know what constitutes a perfect marshmallow, we must gather the necessary supplies.
Marshmallows
The tried and true plain marshmallow is a classic, but some people find the need to branch out. If you're too good to put two marshmallows on your stick, go for these Giant marshmallows. For those of you who don't want the sugar buzz(but that's why we do this) opt in for the Sugar Free Marshmallows.
Here's some more fun options:

Roasting forks
These telescoping roasting sticks are by far our favorite. They are easy to store, cool down to the touch in seconds, and you can put them in a cup of water in between uses to get the marshmallow residue off.
Solid Roasting Sticks Bamboo Single Use
Fire
We feel the best way to roast a marshmallow is over a wood fire, and we highly recommend this Stainless Steel Fire Pit, but we understand some localities don't allow them. So here is a Propane Fire Pit as well that you can use.
Roasting
Without a doubt, it is necessary to have 2 prongs in a marshmallow at all times when going for perfection. The soft creamy goodness that we love is in no way going to hold up to the rigors of being roasted over a fire with just one prong. It will inevitably just droop to the point where you can no longer get it to spin.
Through much trial and error, I have come to the conclusion that the most consistent way to roast the perfect marshmallow is to crisp the outside first with quick heat. You must be careful to avoid getting it too hot and having it light up in flames, but the crisp outside will help you to avoid the dreaded droop when you start warming the inside.
At this point you want to continue rotating slowly, but just at a farther distance from the flames. This will enable you to heat the inside without further crisping the outside. You will know you are done when the marshmallow has double or tripled in size.
Luckily, even with the right technique, this is a hard skill to master. So you and your family will need to continue to practice until you can say you are a master marshmallow roaster.
Eating
We all know that our favorite way to eat a marshmallow is to have it on a Gourmet Smore, but if you are going to eat one by itself make sure you let it cool down! There is nothing worse than burning your tongue so that you can't continue to taste these amazing treats.
Safety
Safety Tips for Roasting Marshmallows
Because you are roasting marshmallows over an open flame, it’s essential to take some necessary precautions. Follow all of the standard fire safety rules, such as keeping a safe distance and supervising children.
Also, be careful with your roasting sticks. Not only are they sharp, but they will get very hot being held over the flames. Never leave a hot roasting stick where someone might sit or stand on it, and avoid touching the pointy end right after it has been in the fire.
Lastly, if your marshmallow does catch fire, be careful not to flail your stick about trying to put out the flame. You wouldn’t want this molten fireball to fly off and land on someone or something. Instead, slowly remove the burning ‘mallow from the fire and gently blow on it to extinguish the flame.
